SUMMARY

In accordance with the agency Mission statement, the Therapist provides ongoing individual and group counseling to assigned population. The Therapist completes documentation requirements reflecting clinical necessity which meets program and agency standards. The Therapist interacts regularly with other staff, including the Health Team, and treatment providers to provide quality care to individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse issues. Therapists may also provide crisis intervention, case management, treatment planning and reviews and psycho-social assessments. Therapists are classified into Tiers (Therapist I, Therapist II, etc.) by Red Rock, depending on experience and credentials, and compensated accordingly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completes intakes, develops treatment plans, determines clinical diagnosis and refers clients to appropriate resources internally or externally.
  • Prepares, plans, facilitates, and implements direct care of consumers through groups and individual therapy.
  • Participates in treatment team meetings providing information pertinent to welfare of consumer for supervision.
  • Provides crisis assistance and consults with various third parties as deemed appropriate.
  • Completes all documentation in a timely manner.
  • Serves as a primary liaison to health part of core team and coordinates between all Health Team members as necessary.
  • Coordinates input from all team members into the comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Supervises students and other clinical support staff when required for attainment of programmatic goals. May provide training of specialized nature when required.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Maintains confidentiality and informs consumers of rights and obtains necessary authorization for obtaining and releasing information.
  • Maintains core competencies through continuing education and implementing skills.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Completes all in-service training and as well as required external training.
  • Completes assigned trainings according to assigned Career Path.
  • Maintains effective working relationships with consumers, other staff, and the community.
  • Exercises independent judgment.
  • Works effectively in a team environment.
  • Seeks supervision as appropriate for safety of consumers and adherence to Policy and Procedures.
  • Encourages team work and supports the culture and goals of the agency.
  • Maintains compliance with Medicaid, ODMHSAS, CARF and any other funding /contact source.
  • Additional functions of Therapist II-IV:
    • Possesses experience working form specific theoretical orientation, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
    • Credential or able to credential with private insurance panels and assists with the process in a timely manner.
    • Utilizes and demonstrates competency (or gaining competency) in assigned Career Path.
  • Additional functions of Therapist III-IV:
    • Represents Red Rock and attends meeting with various partner agencies.
    • Completes complex tasks at supervisor request.
    • Provides supervision to other staff as needed.
  • Additional functions of Therapist IV:
    • Demonstrates excellent skills and competencies in handling critical or complex clinical situations, seeking supervisor as appropriate.
    • Demonstrates a specialty approach in an approach, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
    • Provides clinical training as assigned.
    • Performs duties and make clinical decisions with minimal supervision.
    • Serves as a resource to other staff for consultation, problem solving and assistance.
  • Supports and assists with the facilitation of Care Plans for consumers within the Red Rock Health Team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Therapist I - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree – Under Supervision License eligible in state of Oklahoma.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to perform duties.
  • Possesses training and understanding of how to frame initial assessment and initial plan development in a way that adequately identifies client needs and the treatment objectives that can best be addressed in the Health Team program.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS

 

Therapist II - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree – Licensed in state of Oklahoma (LPC, LMFT, LBP, LCSW, LADC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to perform duties.
  • Possesses training and understanding of how to frame initial assessment and initial plan development in a way that adequately identifies client needs and the treatment objectives that can best be addressed in the Health Team program.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS

 

Therapist III - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree - Licensed in state of Oklahoma (LPC, LMFT, LBP,LCSW, LADC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a specialty approach or will become specialized in an approach, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to perform duties.
  • Possesses training and understanding of how to frame initial assessment and initial plan development in a way that adequately identifies client needs and the treatment objectives that can best be addressed in the Health Team program.
  • Employed as a licensed therapist at Red Rock for 4 years or elsewhere as a licensed therapist for 7 years.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS

 

Therapist Level IV - MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree – Licensed in state of Oklahoma (LPC, LMFT, LBP, LCSW, LADC).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates a specialty approach in a specific theoretical orientation, i.e., CBT, Person-Centered, Motivational Interviewing, etc
  • Possesses training and understanding of how to frame initial assessment and initial plan development in a way that adequately identifies client needs and the treatment objectives that can best be addressed in the Health Team program.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to perform duties.
  • Employed as a licensed therapist at Red Rock for 6 years or elsewhere as a licensed therapist for 10 years.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS
