SUMMARY
Develops, implements, and coordinates product assurance program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products working within the AS9100 program guidelines.
Essential Duties
Analyzes, evaluates, and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends, and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of management team.
Reviews technical problems and procedures of departments and recommends solutions to problems or changes in procedures
Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders, and vendor quality standards. Approves or disapproves suppliers and as such has over sight responsibility for vendor performance and approval.
Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products designed and manufactured products on market to rectify problems.
Conducts management meetings with product assurance program department heads to establish, delineate, and review program organizational policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all employees associated with Quality Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training/mentoring employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Successful candidates will be high energy, self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented with the ability to render mature business decisions and to motivate and develop key management personnel. Advanced computer and software skills required. Strong analytical ability required in order to analyze and interpret contracts and other documents, and must be comfortable in a fast paced environment with frequently competing priorities. Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BS degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in all phases of quality assurance and control, preferred.
Degree in Quality Assurance preferred
3-5 years experience
Understanding of both military and commercial quality assurance regulations
Understanding of AS9100 based Quality Management Systems.
Understanding of mechanical and electromechanical systems
FAA familiarity
Strong Computer Skills
