Description

SUMMARY

Records on a daily basis for incoming receipts-Cash Application. Prepares the deposit logs required for each consumer deposit transaction. Prepares billing for service reimbursement: Medicaid, Medicare, contractors, insurance companies, etc. Monitors utilization of services. Researches on denials, rebilling, back-billing, etc., works non-applied cash on a monthly basis as services are paid back.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Inputs cash receipts information daily into Red Rock's computer system using its cash application process for posting payments to the consumers account.
  • Posts cash receipts and cash adjustments daily; prepares manual journals and performs data input.
  • Works the non-applied cash on a monthly basis as services are paid back to assist in keeping accounts balanced.
  • Bills all assigned service contracts for reimbursements utilizing computerized or manual forms/format; distributes each billing as required.
  • Bills assigned insurance carriers utilizing computerized or manual forms/format; distributes each billing as required.
  • Handles consumer-billing issues with consumer, clinician, insurance company or contractor as necessary.
  • Researches denial of claims and rebills as necessary and communicates to clinical staff if appropriate.
  • Monitors consumer accounts receivable balances, prepares collection reports for financial services staff.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of programmatic goals and objectives.
  • Attends staff meetings, workshops, and seminars to learn agency policies, rules, regulations, and procedures; participates in ongoing in-service training as well as pertinent external training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school or equivalent with emphasis on business related courses.
  • One year experience in area of accounts receivable, billing and cash collections/recording or equivalent college or vocational coursework.
  • Ten key, computer/data entry, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Communication, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to the mission of Red Rock BHS
  • Preferred one-year business or vocational training certification.
  • Preferred knowledge of insurance billing.
  • Preferred two years related experience.
