Responsibilities:

  • Design processes to manufacture and assemble GDI pumps with high quality and low cost
  • Create specifications and purchase new equipment to produce GDI pump assemblies.
  • Perform testing and qualification for new machines to ensure capability to perform to specifications
  • Propose cost reduction and quality improvements to GDI pump processes
  • Support manufacturing plant during start-up phase of projects to resolve issues.
  • Meet all targets for cost, quality, and timing for new GDI pump assembly lines
  • Provide quotations for new business opportunities for GDI pumps.
  • Supervise team of Manufacturing Engineers to implement new GDI pump assembly lines at Delphi Technology plants globally.
  • Ability to cross border daily to the facility in Juarez, Mexico
  • Flexibility to travel globally for 1-2 week assignments up to 30%

Position Requirements

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience with leading new product manufacturing processes from Specification to Implementation and Qualification
  • 5+ years of experience specifying a Full Assembly Line with 10+ machines
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with automated processes
  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of 5+ engineers working on global implementation projects

Nice to haves (preferred qualifications)

  • Experience with laser welding machines
  • Strong ability to work with others and provide training in diverse situations
  • Bi-lingual Spanish/English
  • Good troubleshooting skills to solve complex problems
  • Familiar with manual and automatic assembly systems
