Share Email Opening Title Touch-up Grind  Category Manufacturing   Description DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of this position is to remove any remaining blemishes from casket tops prior to coating. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: After casket top reaches work area a handheld grinder with abrasive pad is used on top to remove any blemishes in welded area. The employee is required to bend at the waist and apply horizontal force to remove metal imperfections. AUTHORITY TO: Consider safety first; report unsafe conditions identified in any area of the facility Comply with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety-related company policies Maintain good housekeeping   Position Requirements EDUCATON/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: On-the-job Training. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: PPE includes safety glasses, ear plugs, goggles, leather apron, leather gloves, and protective sleeves. Work environment is indoors, may be hot/humid, and nuisance dust may be in air. Physical requirements are standing for entire shift, bending and applying a horizontal force.
