Share Email Opening Title Box Welder (MIG)  Category Manufacturing   Description DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE OF POSITION: Casket body sides along with head end and foot end pieces are placed in a jig to be prepared for welding. Welding begins, with a crew of either two or four, simultaneously starting a bead weld with a hand held torch. The employee is using Lincoln Electric L-50 welding wire, to complete the MIG welding process, on 18 and 20 gauge steel. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To produce quality product that meets safety specifications while maintaining safety requirements. Use the MIG welding process and work as a member of a team to produce welded casket body. AUTHORITY TO: Consider safety first; report unsafe conditions identified in any area of the facility Comply with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety-related company policies Maintain good housekeeping   Position Requirements EDUCATON/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: On-the-job Training KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES NEEDED: Technical understanding of the MIG welding process OTHER REQUIREMENTS: WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: PPE includes welding mask, welding glove, leather glove, arm sleeves, ear plugs, and safety glasses (added PPE can cause increase in body temperature which can be a cause of heat related injury). Work environment is indoors and may be hot/humid.
