Share Email Opening Title Box Grind  Category Manufacturing   Description DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE OF POSITION: Using a handheld grinder, a two man team is used to smooth the corner pieces of the casket body. The employee is grinding with an abrasive grinding pad on 18 and 20 gauge steel as well as stainless steel.   ESENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To produce a finished product that meets quality specifications while maintaining the safety requirements of Astral Industries. AUTHORITY TO: Consider safety first; report unsafe conditions identified in any area of the facility Comply with PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and other safety-related company policies Maintain good housekeeping     Position Requirements EDUCATON/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION/WORK EXPERIENCE: On-the-job Training   KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES NEEDED: Ability to operate grinder in safe and efficient way to produce quality product, also must follow Assembly line schedule.   OTHER REQUIREMENTS:   WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: PPE includes safety glasses, goggles, anti-vibration gloves, leather gloves, ear plugs, and leather apron (covering increases body temperature/cause for heat related injury) Work environment is indoors and may be hot/humid.
