Therapist - Early Intervention Team - Adult 

Description

Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Therapist to join our Early Intervention Team for First Episode Psychosis. The Therapist serves as lead individual clinician within a coordinated specialty team for youth and young adults (15-36) experiencing their first episode of psychosis. Utilizing Individual Resiliency Training (IRT), the Therapist will assist individuals by increasing coping and resiliency skills, decreasing the impact of illness on recovery goals, and maximizing independent and interpersonal functioning in the community.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Facilitate development of resiliency and coping skills to reduce impact of distressing symptoms.
  • Provide education and understanding of psychosis utilizing Individual Resiliency Training.
  • Assist in identifying strengths and developing personal goals to support recovery.
  • Provide specialized therapeutic interventions as appropriate to individual need, training, and experience.
  • Completes assessments for diagnostic clarity, appropriate fit with treatment, and life satisfaction.
  • Familiarizes individuals with appropriate community resources for educational, cultural, and social activities.
  • Works with team members, community partners, and service organizations to closely collaborate care and other community services or resources.
 
Position Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling other mental health related field.
  • Valid Kansas Behavioral Sciences Regulatory Board license or certification required.
  • Passion for helping individuals new to illness and patience within the stages of change.
  • Skilled at coordinating with staff, community partners, and service agencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including both verbal and written.
  • Ability to recognize and be sensitive to cultural and ethnic differences.
  • Engagement and outreach skills to establish relationships with individuals and family systems.
  • Ability to initiate and develop solutions in clinical and other job related situations.
 
Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time  
Shift Days  
Hours Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm  
Pay Range $40,000 to $44,000
