About the Organization  

ATC is a national engineering/consulting firm that specializes in environmental engineering, geotechnical engineering, and construction materials testing and inspeciton service. ATC is recognized as one of the nation's leading prectitioners of Environmental Consulting, Engineering and Testing. ATC is seeking a full-time CMT Group Manager to work in our Atlanta (Marietta), GA office.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for overall management of the construction materials engineering, and testing/ special inspection services, personnel management and material laboratory management, equipment, and quality control.
  • Fiscal management of department revenues $1M and above
  • Manage projects with complete fiscal responsibility for success and client satisfaction
  • Promote incident and injury free workplace through adherence to company health and safety program
  • Staff scheduling and technical trouble shooting of field and lab testing
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and train professional and technical personnel
  • Visit job sites, network with clients, general contractors, and site superintendents
  • Perform field inspections, such as foundation inspections, proofrolling, subgrade evaluations, etc.
  • Assist branch billing specialist with timely collection of accounts receivable
  • Provide cost proposals for construction materials testing projects
  • Active involvement with business development and expanding current client base
Position Requirements

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Geology, or related field
  • At least six (6) years of relevant professional experience
  • P.E. license is preferred
  • Strong Leadership, Organizational, Communication and Writing skills
  • Must have experience with field and laboratory materials testing procedures
  • Experience with local soild and construction methods is preferred
  • Experience with local contractors and developers is preferred
  • Experience with GDOT is preferred
  • Must have a proven track record in managing a business unit demonstrating profitability and growth
  • Must have experience in client development
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience in environmental field as a Project Scientist in the consulting field performing due diligence related projects to include Phase I and Phase II ESA's.Preferred but not required
  • Experience in UST and hazardous site projects a plus
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite - Word/Excel/Power Point and/or Adobe or Foxit
  • Ability to travel - 25% of the time
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
