Cadaret Grant & Co., Inc. is looking for a Technical Operations Manager to join our successful organization. We take pride in our team of professionals, who help to expand the company’s reputation as one of the leading independent broker/dealers in the country.

This position will be responsible for working with existing infrastructure, staff, and consultants. In addition to overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and operations of the physical and virtual infrastructure needed to run the organization’s proprietary platform, dataVISION.

Position duties include but are not limited to:

  • Managing technical vendors including datacenters, transit providers, and network and infrastructure consultants
  • Managing technical operations staff
  • Managing on-call incident response coverage
  • Overseeing and performing hands on work in colocation facilities (currently located in Seattle and Las Vegas)
  • Overseeing physical infrastructure (firewalls, routers, switches, servers, etc.)
  • Overseeing virtual infrastructure (VMWare, Linux managed by Chef) and cloud infrastructure (AWS)
  • Overseeing deployment and operations of custom software applications (PostgreSQL, Ruby on Rails)
  • Overseeing operations of third-party applications
  • Overseeing server and service logging, monitoring, and alerting (ElasticSearch, Sensu)
  • Overseeing security scans, audits, and staging environments provided to development teams
  • Responding to SSAE and other auditors
  • Controlling access and releases to production environment
  • Creating and adhering to SLA for uptime and service availability
  • Supporting Company Mission and Corporate Values
  • Documenting systems changes including creation of system documentation and procedures
  • Other projects and duties may be assigned
Position Requirements
  • 5+ years real world experience developing and operating production technical infrastructures
  • Strong management, leadership and technical operations skills required
  • Experience with VMWare, Linux, and Chef
  • In-depth experience with concepts including networking, application deployment, alerting and monitoring systems, cloud technologies
  • Able to multi-task and engage with many product development groups
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong verbal communication and social skills needed
  • Self-driven, able to work independently with minimal supervision and must be inspirational and enjoy motivating others
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, meet deadlines and simultaneously develop, deploy and coordinate multiple projects
  • Analytical, problem solver, logical thinker with attention to detail. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or presentation form Ability to deal and resolve problems involving several entities, people or variables
