About the Organization Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Veteran Peer Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. With a Mission of Promoting Independence, Community Integration and Recovery, HCMHDD Centers operates (10) ten Mental Health Clinics, (8) Developmental Disability Centers and serving a population of over 630,349 consumers within 22,593 square miles.

Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers

Job Title: Registered Behavior Technician (multiple opportunities in various locations)!

Are you looking to make a difference? Hill Country Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Centers has immediate openings for qualified candidates to fill several Registered Behavior Technician positions! This positions are responsible for using the principles of behavior analysis to enhance the living, social, and recreational skills of individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The Registered Behavior Technician provides support to individuals throughout their lifespan and those they interact with daily to increase growth and opportunities as productive members of the community. Services are delivered in compliance with HCS service definitions, HCS principles, and Community Standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct activities related to the need for applied behavior analysis and in accordance with the behavior support plan including:
    • Implement treatment protocols
    • Collect and summarize data
  • Provide clinical and pertinent information to behavior analysts
  • Adhere to supervision requirements
  • Review and implement supervisor recommendations
  • Ensure individuals safety
  • Communicate appropriately and effectively with individuals receiving services, colleagues, families, and community stakeholders.
  • Provide timely and accurate documentation of services provided
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Work independently and carry out assignments to completion
  • Provide exemplary customer service
  • Attend work in a timely manner and on a regular basis
  • Complete 40-hour Registered Behavior technician Training provided by Hill Country MHDD Centers through Relias.
  • Follow all policies and procedures including, but not limited to, confidentiality and mandated reporting standards.
  • Maintain RBT Certification by tracking supervision and renewing certification on an annual basis

Position Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion
  • Verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with consumers, co-workers, and supervisor
  • One year experience working with individuals with special needs and challenging behaviors – Preferred

Licenses/Certificates:

  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Current Automobile Insurance
  • Registered Behavior Technician credential required as demonstrated by inclusion on the RBT Registry on BACB website.

*Not a Registered Behavior Technician, we will help train and register you!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, kneel, turn, and reach frequently.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and/or carry over 20 pounds
  • Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly
  • Ability to provide CPR after obtaining certification
  • Ability to demonstrate PMAB skills after successful completion of agency training curriculum
