Position Firefighter - Paid On Call  
Description

Firefighters will perform individually or as a member of a firefighting team and will particiapte in fire suppression activities including: firefighting, rescue, ventilation, forcible entry, salvage and overhaul. This position will function and respond to special operation requests as directed.

Firefighters will attend training sessions on a regular basis in order to continuously update their knowledge and skills required for effective work performance. Decisions are made with guidance of a supervisor on an individual level and have a direct effect on life and property. General job functions include: firefighting-emergency, firefighting-non-emergency, water search and rescue, confined space rescue, rescue of entrapped victims and special operations.

 
Position Requirements
  • Valid Wisconsin driver's license
  • Abilitiy to communicate written and orally
  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Ability to adapt to varied emergency situations
  • Ability to work as a member of a team or alone
  • Ability to work safely
  • Ability to recognize hazardous situations

Compensation $9.66 per hour for routine training, $13.87 per hour for emergency call-in and $100 quarterly.
