Description

SUMMARY:

This positon will have the responsibility of developing and implementing a comprehensive communications strategy that addresses external and internal audiences. Routine activities will focus on branding initiatives related to key strategic business actions and pursuits, general media relations, and advertising. This position is also accountable for supervising the individuals responsible for HDT Global’s tradeshow and conference participation plus corporate website and other electronic communications technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all areas of direct mail, electronic marketing, sales collateral, public relations, and advertising to target markets (primarily the aerospace/defense industry)
  • Works with business areas, sales team, and product line leads to develop marketing strategies and tactics to achieve market share and sales growth objectives
  • Provides input, direction and oversite in the production of all corporate publications and sales and marketing materials, including brochures, data sheets, solutions brochures, and other required materials including major proposal graphic development
  • Participates in the preparation of the annual marketing plan; administers and measures goals and manages budget associated with all communications and marketing activities
  • Drafts, manages, and distributes press releases
  • Responsible for internal communications such as monthly newsletter, broad leadership announcements, and special information dissemination
  • Supervises the activities of the tradeshow coordinator and graphic designer
  • Performs analysis to support marketing initiatives and test programs
  • Ensures proper compliance with company’s Brand and messaging
  • Initiates ideas for the implementation and improvement of internal communication processes
  • Initiates ideas for updating and maintaining the content on the company website
  • Plans and manages special events
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards
  • Supports other projects and performs duties as assigned
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Marketing, Communications or business related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 5 years professional marketing and communications experience. Two to three years of managerial experience. Experience in the Aerospace/Defense industry is a plus.

OTHER JOB RELATED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of marketing, public relations, and advertising principles and practices
  • Familiarity with internal and external communication
  • Past experience in creating and implementing company branding policies
  • Past experience in directing digital communications including company website and social media
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, willing to work overtime when necessary
  • Possesses quality orientation and high attention to detail
  • Possesses strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with customers, vendors, employees and managers at all levels within the company
  • Possesses strong computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Some travel required
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English
