Innovations Trainer

Position Hours: 9:30 am - 1:30 pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Innovations Trainer provides Innovations Services to individuals supported by the Innovations Waiver program in either an individual or group setting. This position is full time, part time or periodic. The Innovations Trainer aids in goal training as well as socialization and integration for the individuals they serve as outlined by the service definition.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists with identifying and working on an individual’s goals.
  • Assists in developing, monitoring keeping up with production outcomes and adjusts goals as needed.
  • Assists supported individuals with inclusion through community outings.
  • Respects the dignity and individuality of each individual and his/her right to confidentiality.
  • Assists supported individuals with daily needs.
  • Ensures the safety, health, hygiene and nutritional needs of the supported individuals are met.
  • Lifts and transfers supported individuals as needed.
  • Assists individuals at learning and increasing skills in all areas of independence. This includes, but is not limited to: vocational contract work, pre-vocational activities, self-help skills, independent living skills, accessing community resources and pursuit of leisure activities.
  • Completes required paperwork (grids) accurately and as required by program.
  • Assist with supervising the setting up and cleaning of work/activity stations and helping as needed.
  • Assist with documenting contract work production totals and monitoring quality control.
  • Maintains good work habits regarding attendance, punctuality, appearance and effective working relationships with co-workers.
  • Assists with cleaning and maintaining workspace and equipment.
  • Responsive of safety needs of the individual being supported and their environment.
  • Attends scheduled team meetings and any supervisory meetings.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality, manages use of PTO time, and follows all policies and procedures regarding time off.
  • Follows all ESUCP Policies and Procedures.
  • Must demonstrate Easter Seals valued behaviors of Accountability, Commitment and Caring as appropriate to position.
  • Completes required training within prescribed timeframes.

Performs related duties as requested.

Position Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent from an appropriately accredited institution required.
  • Two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferred.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work independently, handle multiple responsibilities and assigning priority to activities.
  • Must possess a current, unrestricted, state appropriate driver’s license.
  • Must possess current, unrestricted vehicle insurance.
  • Must have reliable transportation that will allow movement throughout the program delivery area.
