The Infrastructure Engineer III is responsible for effective provisioning, configuration, monitoring, reporting and issue resolution within the infrastructure of RF and our clients. The role requires a deep and broad knowledge of network components, design, maintenance and issue resolution as well as the ability to provide solutions to technical business problem. This is a leadership position where the incumbent will advise junior engineers, and desktop support specialists how to handle complex problems. Essential Job Functions Responsible for overall Network Architecture and System designs Analyze the existing Network and System Design, suggesting requirements, improvements and commissioning/decommissioning needs Provides third-level technical support at the network and system level: WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, and security Serves as data networking subject matter expert to junior engineers Ensures that networks and equipment are monitored and that issues are resolved within SLA requirements Ensures appropriate and up-to-date documentation is maintained on all systems and networks Provides and maintains remote access solution implementation and support Monitors remote system alerts and notifications, and responds accordingly through service tickets Tracking availability, reliability, performance, capacity planning, clustering, replication, and connectivity for both client and corporate offices Communicates effectively with IT management team Communicates complex, technical concepts easily to non-technical clients/colleagues Follow RealFoundations standardized processes and procedures Provide hands on installation and support as well as remote, phone and email Provide accurate and relevant reporting to IT Management team and/or clients Maintain hardware, software and firmware inventories Manage vendor service contracts Resolve service delivery and client issues as needed Submit detailed records in a timely manner (time sheets, tickets, reports, etc.) Identify and escalate business and technical challenges as appropriate Keep accurate, timely, and thorough client site documentation Meet with colleagues, managers, and account managers regarding account status, ongoing issues and opportunities Attend and participate in regularly scheduled team meetings On-Call rotation required. Identify and recommend improvement opportunities that are consistent with client needs Professional appearance as outlined in the RealFoundations handbook Off hour work and overnight travel may be required Maintain a high level of professionalism with customers, vendors and staff Perform all responsibilities in alignment with the core values of RealFoundations, Inc.   Category Managed Services   Location Dallas   Position Network Engineer   Position Requirements 5+ Years’ experience working as a network and system engineer or network and system administrator. We prefer direct experience in an MSP (Managed Service Provider) environment or with a Microsoft partner. Fortigate experience a plus Experience working with Windows Server 2008-2012, Exchange 2013 (or Office 365), and Windows Desktop operating systems Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Subnets, DHCP, LDAP, DNS, VOIP, VPN's and Network Security Preferred Certifications: Cisco: CCNA/CCDA Industry: CISSP Preferred: Hands on knowledge and experience designing, configuring and maintaining of Unified Communications and/or VoIP systems Preferred Tools Knowledge: Solar Winds Experience with desktop support and network troubleshooting Experience leading a team Excellent oral and written communication skills Excellent customer service management skills Strong verbal and written communication skills are mandatory A strong working knowledge of all of the following: TCP/IP DNS DHCP IIS VPN SSL Certificates Disaster Recovery Malware Protection and Removal Firewalls VLAN's Wireless LAN Technologies Network Security Principles Virtualization technologies Private Cloud Solutions Network Monitoring Tools SNMP V2 & V3 NetFlow Syslog Azure Networking Managed Hosting Providers We are not accepting unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters unless such recruiters were engaged to provide candidates for a specified opening.
