Senior CADD Technician

Position Senior CADD Technician  

General Description: Senior level drafter/technician with at least 6 years of experience supports survey department during the research/project setup and preparation of complex survey projects such as boundary surveys, existing condition surveys, plats or exhibits and special projects;

    Direction Received:

    • Receives direction from Graduate Surveyor, Professional or Senior Professional;
    • Requires minimal supervision;
    • May supervise or direct CADD I and II technicians.


    • Performs non-routine and complex assignments from verbal and written instructions and under minimal supervision;
    • Considerable drafting/CADD skills are required to visualize, portray and complete complex features and drawings from sketches, plans and specification using computer-aided drafting programs;
    • Works closely with Project Surveyor, and/or Project Managers;
    • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting to Project Engineer or Project Manager for review.
    • Ensures adherence to established specifications and standards;
    • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals;
    • Revises or changes drawings, traces and/or copies existing drawings and completes simple calculations with specific instructions;
    • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

    Position Requirements

    Proficiencies / Technical Responsibilities:

    • Requires extensive knowledge and training in Autodesk Civil 3D or higher is preferable;
    • Some experience with Micro Station is preferred;
    • Must be proficient with Basic Computer Skills (Microsoft Office etc.)

    Education: Two-year degree from technical school required
