GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Performs skilled duties in maintaining and repairing authentic and replicated antique equipment such as steam operated cider press, 19th century grist mill, steam operated saw mill, old-time printing press, carnival and amusement rides, and other equipment; buildings and structures which may be found in a historical village; performs skilled work in other park areas; works under general supervision; performs related duties as required. STATEMENT OF TASKS: Participates in the restoration and maintenance of 19th century equipment such as a grist mill, cider presses, saw mill, printing presses and other equipment; buildings and structures and other related apparatus; Repairs and maintains equipment found in Crossroads Village and other Park areas; Performs carpentry, masonry and other skilled trade types of work; Interprets blueprints, diagrams and schematics; Participates in the fabrication of parts needed for repairing and/or restoring equipment; Prepares and recommends safety procedures for operating cider presses, saw mill, grist mill, printing presses, carnival and amusement rides and other equipment; Participates in the training of staff for Crossroads Village and other staff operating equipment throughout the park system; May be required to direct the work of other employees; Prepares and maintains necessary reports and records; Performs weekly safety inspections of rides and keeps accurate records. |
