Share Email Opening Title Electronic Medical Records Specialist  Description Wyandot BHN is seeking a dedicated Electronic Medical Records Specialist to accurately submit confidential health information from clinical records and send to requestors, transcribe medical information and provide related clerical support. Essential Job Duties: Responsible for data entry into the electronic health record. Scans and files medical records, correspondence and other documentation in clinical charts and the electronic health record. Assists clients with requests for medical records and maintaining accurate clinical record information. Abstracts and processes medical releases of information, subpoenas & audits that pertain to the HIPAA Privacy Laws for information from clients' medical records for release to appropriate facility, agency, attorney, Insurance Company, physician, etc. Retrieves clinical charts as requested for staff &/or Medicaid audits within 24-hours of request. Prepares & sends charts for closure in off-site storage facility. Maintains opened and closed file areas in an orderly and accurate manner Verifies and updates client’s demographic information to include name changes, address, and phone number. Ability to handle high volume of phone calls on multi-line phone system. Provides other supportive services to staff   Position Requirements Job Requirements: Associates degree preferred and/or adequate experience in the health care field Proficient working with MS Office programs. (Word, and Excel primarily) Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information. Exhibits the ability to work independently and to exercise independent judgement. Must be able to safely perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations. Previous medical records experience preferred.
