Senior Manager, Campaign Operations 

Description

The senior campaign manager is responsible for supporting the leadership team in carrying out Woodland Park Zoo’s comprehensive campaign. The Senior Campaign Operations Manager works closely within the Development department and across the organization in setting up systems, translating campaign priorities and impacts, and implementing strategies and management plans to coordinate campaign responsibilities effectively.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily operations of the campaign in cooperation with the Vice President of Development.
  • Partner with cross-zoo leaders and Development colleagues to set, shape, manage, package and execute campaign priorities and activities.
  • Lead campaign plan development, implementation, execution and adaptations toward successful results.
  • Architect and manage the campaign volunteer committees and work with committee leadership to build excitement, satisfaction and engagement. Coordinate activities including minutes, notices, support materials and follow-up.
  • Develop campaign tool kits and other resources for Board members and campaign volunteers.
  • Strategize with Engagement Team on developing and executing campaign marketing and communications.
  • In partnership with the Director of Individual Giving and Director of Donor Relations, coordinate the implementation of strategies for cultivating and securing gifts from individual donors in all ranges including personal solicitations, major donor events, and direct mail.
  • In partnership with the Director of Institutional Giving, coordinate the development and timely submission of campaign proposals to private funding sources and foundations.
  • Direct volunteers, board, staff and committee members to identify individual prospects, including scheduling and basic prospect research.
  • In partnership with the Relationship Data Services team, design and distribute campaign reports and records.
  • Work within the Development and Finance units to manage the campaign fundraising budget.
  • Collaborate with appropriate teams to coordinate all donor recognition activities, campaign records management and gift processing.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least seven years of fund development experience including annual campaign, donor solicitation, and campaigns.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Ability to work with high level board members and other supporters.

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience raising money from individuals and private sources.
  • Experience coordinating and working with volunteers.
  • Experience with budget development and management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • This position may be required to lift up to 25lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a typical office environment and/or outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
