Job Title: Supplemental Program Staff - Music Instructor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Definition and Basic Function: Will develop and implement supplemental music programs based on skill and organizational need.

Accountability: Identified Program Manager and / or identified Lead Staff

Responsibilities:

Programming

  1. Develop, implement, and maintain a music program for the individuals

  2. Facilitate individual, small group, and large group music sessions

  3. Lead music sessions that address goal areas and encompass a variety of interventions such as singing, songwriting, instrument playing, etc.

  4. Plan and lead activities related to promoting skills and interests in the music program

  5. Assist to maintain documentation necessary for recording acquisition of skills, progress on goals and outcomes, and participation in the program

  6. Provide individuals with opportunities for community participation related to the music program

  7. Engage with managers and staff to develop outcomes for the individuals related to the music program

  8. Collaborate with Program Specialist/Manager for goal-setting and reporting process

  9. Integrate the music program into all areas of program as appropriate

  10. Direct communication of important information to supervisory staff

  11. Assist with individuals' personal care needs, as needed

Other

  1. Assist during general group activities for the Individuals.

  2. Communicate with Program Manager and other staff through appropriate means.

  3. Maintain the general upkeep of the program.

  4. Participate in at least twenty-four hours of training each fiscal year as required by the regulations.

  5. All other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: This position may have flexible hours that are agreed upon between the Program Manager and the individual. Generally will be daytime hours although some evening and weekend hours may be required.

 
Position Requirements

Job Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Must also have a valid driver’s license, valid auto insurance, and valid car registration. Must have at least two years of driving experience to transport individuals to and from activities, appointments, and workshops, using personal vehicle. Must submit to a criminal background check, a driver’s record check, an initial physical, and a substance screening. Additional education or experience in human services/music instruction is preferred.
