Description

JOB DESCRIPTION

VSolvit LLC is seeking a SQL Server Database Developer who be responsible for support and improvement of business processes with information technology solutions in support of our US Navy on the US Navy Customer on the Maintenance Figure of Merit (MFOM) Program. You will develop, design, and analyze applications and programs of moderate scope and complexity. Develop stored procedures, triggers and procedures for the solution of a variety of well-defined business reporting problems. Elements of this work will be complex and difficult problems for which you will use your analytical skills to help develop solutions and code need deliver resolutions. You will use elements of your database administration experience to ensure integrity of the customer's databases, transaction processing and reporting systems, security, resource monitoring, reporting, and the development of specialized systems and processes.

DoD Secret Clearance Required (or ability to reinstate one held within the past 24 months)

Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Associated Degree and 10+ years’ experience OR Bachelors and 8+ years’ experience OR Master’s and 6+ years’ experience in Software or database technology
  • 5+ years’ experience SQL Database Development (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • 5+ years developing stored procedures, triggers, tables, views, indexes, constraints and trouble shooting SQL scripts
  • 1+ years’ experience Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years’ experience SQL Database Development (Microsoft SQL Server)
  • 3+ years’ experience Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, performance, blocking/deadlocking, connectivity and security issues
  • SQL development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL code and develop stored procedure’s, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes and constraints
  • Experience in performance tuning, query optimization using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler or other related tools
  • Professional knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, etc)
  • Databases development or support of a large government business application comprising custom developed web applications, commercial off the shelf applications, large government reporting systems and other environments
  • Support design and testing of database partitioning and schema options to support the next generation reporting environment
  • Support current environment to optimize stability and performance for all transaction processing and daily reporting
  • Develop methodology to upgrade all SQL environments to SQL 2012 R2, including the conversion of legacy data as needed
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Information Systems, Computer Science Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience which has provided both theoretical and practical knowledge in the field
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job typically acquired through ten or more years related application/infrastructure experience utilizing the company's standard toolsets
  • Specific assignment may require recognized certification in area of expertise
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL server 2008 and / or 2012
  • Oracle experience in addition to MS SQL experience preferred
  • Knowledge of moderate to highly complex programming, system design, and analysis principles, and general business operations
  • Specific area of assignment may require knowledge in specific or multiple products and tools such as: technical knowledge of software and hardware selection implementation and testing methodology
  • Client/server application development, architecture, database-connectivity and database design methodology; and, knowledge of manufacturing and support organizations, business and workflow process, and quality methods
  • Knowledge of project management standards, methods and techniques
  • Ability to communicate effectively with users, project teams, and management
  • Ability to work on a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity where analysis of the situation or data requires thorough identification of factors and analysis of impact
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals and detailed technical manuals and procedures
  • Ability to respond to significant inquiries from users
