Description

Claire's House is a one of a kind, long-term Therapeutic Living Community for child survivors of human trafficking. We exclusively serve female-identified youth, ages 12-17, who have been trafficked. Claire's House is a not shelter or a first responder service and we do not engage in physical restraints. We value survivor voice and youth voice.

Position Summary: The Transportation Support Staff safely transport residents to and from school and other extracurricular activities. Transportation Supports ensure the safety of passengers and keep the agency vehicles in safe and working condition. Staff in these roles provide safe, courteous, and comfortable transportation for residents to and from destinations and may be required to park and wait for residents at various locations throughout the day.

Reports to: Therapeutic House Manager

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Daily communication with House Manager, Program Assistant and shift leads.
  • Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe vehicle operation
  • Follow a precise schedule, and utilize sound judgment in adjusting to traffic and weather conditions
  • Maintain and schedule periodic maintenance of the vehicles.
  • Keep record of passengers and drives and maintaining a log book and safety records
  • Participate in implementation of a resident's Emergency Intervention Plan, when necessary
  • Perform all other duties as necessary for the good of the agency as directed by supervisor.
  • Remain in compliance with all agency training requirements
  • Attend routine safety meetings
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Be able to obtain, secure, and maintain vehicle insurance and possess a current, valid California Transportation Support’s license.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of youth served in a residential setting.
  • Clear TB test, health screening, criminal background check, and any other mandatory State or Federal licensing and certification requirements.
  • Not required but Highly Preferred: Native speaker of one of the following languages: Spanish, Chinese, Tagalog, or Vietnamese

  • Demonstrated compliance with local traffic regulations
  • Maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service
  • Maintaining hygienic and substance-free company vehicles
  • Maintaining appropriate interpersonal boundaries with residents with the guidance of direct care staff and the House Manager

Shifts Available: Monday through Saturday, 2pm-8pm

Accountability:

  • The Transportation Support is accountable to the Program Director, House Manager, and Resident Council

Necessary Forms of Communication: Computer and Internet literacy. Phone and Email. Reading, Writing, Hearing, Speaking, and Understanding English. Utilization of a Hands-free device.

Full Time/Part Time Status: Full time, Hourly, 36-40 hours/week
