Description

Job Purpose:

Oversee the Logistical function of staff lodging and travel as well as tool and material procurement and delivery, as it relates to the performance of Crux critical functions.

Duties:

  • Evaluate and recommend revisions to activities to reduce cost and maintain consistently high level of service
  • Establish and maintain service relationships
  • Coordinate shipments and communicate booking information and instructions
  • Find viable solutions to problems and notify involved parties.
  • Actively participate in weekly Ops Comm conference meetings to obtain information regarding status of jobs and potential future workload
  • Arrange shipping of materials, tools, equipment, etc. with the intention of maximizing the capacity of shipping method to ensure efficient use of funds
  • Arrange transportation and lodging needs of employees with consideration to: cost, convenience, approval and logistical completion of job
  • Negotiate rates of travel and lodging using industry knowledge; quantity of service and other strategies to maximize quality at appropriate price
  • Identify and secure equipment rentals for specific jobs using lists and specifications provided by project management, shop and/or superintendent
  • Research supply and service costs and details to assist field staff in procurement of competitively priced goods and services
  • Identify and secure sources of site-specific safety items, including water, if required
  • Create purchase orders, maintain records of receipt and other documentation to ensure appropriate backup of purchases and credit charges
  • Assist Warehouse Lead in ordering and procuring supply inventory at the Thunder Bay Shop
 
Position Requirements

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Proficient with use of mapping programs and internet search engines
  • Effective and professional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain an organized system with regard to filing, communication, follow-up on assigned tasks, etc.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision-making abilities
  • Demonstrated ability working independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently accomplish assigned tasks in a fast-paced environment with time-sensitive deadlines
