Description

Summary:

The Tax Delinquency Processor oversees the assigned geographic territories. The role is relied upon to plan the timely procurement and accurate reporting of prior year tax information.

Essential Functions:

Procurement of Prior Year Tax Information

  • Reviews pre-cycle requirements and communicates critical instruction and deadlines to all support team members.
  • Coordinates assigned manual taxing authorities (Agency ID) for availability of reliable delinquent tax information. Information should include validity, or Posted Thru, date as well as Tax Year/Installment breakdown details.
  • Comply with department policies regarding check request and mailout processing.
  • Provide clear and appropriate instruction and adhere to batch requirements for work assignments.
  • Monitors status of automated file procurement and processing to ensure delivery timelines and Posted Thru dates are not in jeopardy.
  • Ensure manual Agency ID requirements, such as sort sequence, check request, field appointment, are properly handled in a timely manner.
  • Perform and document regular follow-up attempts, noting date, contact name, and brief recap of events.

Delivery of Prior Year Tax Information

  • Prioritizes tasks to ensure 99.00% Delinquent Reports are complete and delivered to Customers on or before the scheduled calendar event month.
  • Ensures reporting cycles are included on weekly reporting agenda and final reports are submitted as scheduled.

Quality Control

  • Adheres to established process workflow and checklist formats
  • Responsible for the review and verification of agency quality control and preliminary reports
  • Compiles end-of-month compliance report showing clear start and subsequent follow-up dates with recap
  • Ensures the Agency Profile System and Reporting Calendar information is updated and accurate
  • Maintains appropriate pre-cycle and audit documentation, as per department policy
  • This position will perform other duties as assigned based on the needs of the department.
 
Position Requirements

High School or equivalent.

1-2 years of property tax research experience

Microsoft Word and Excel familiarity
