This is a hands-on testing position. Supports and mentor technicians in troubleshooting complex failure modes. Provides technical interpretation of drawings and specifications of difficult products and failures. Develops working knowledge (Symptom cure) of units. Studies test equipment performance and reliability and creates plans to minimize downtime. Evaluate, select and recommend capital test equipment when appropriate using cost/payback analysis. Determines proper test flows and sequencing for the efficient flow of assigned products. Ability to assess current test methodologies and develop/execute plans for product test improvement without the need for supervision in a timely manner. Ability to multitask a variety of concurrent activities and complete each per the defined deadline while keeping management updated with progress along the way. Familiarity with a wide variety of test and measurement instruments and the knowledge to perform accurate measurements. Equipment examples are oscilloscopes, DMM's, AC/DC Power sources, function generators, Hipot testers, Megohmmeters, Micro Ohmmeters, RF power meters/sensors, RF sources, RF Spectrum Analyzers & RF Network Analyzers, etc. Experience working with high-voltage and high current products and test equipment. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Two year degree in a technical discipline required; prefer a four year degree in Engineering or other technical discipline; a minimum of 6 years direct industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. and be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
