Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general direction of the Director of Information Technology and Planning, the Information Technology Intern will performs information technology work in the support and maintenance of the company's technology based information system. Work is performed within a broad framework of general policy and requires creativity and resourcefulness to accomplish goals and objectives and to apply concepts, plans and strategies that may deviate from traditional methods and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure proper utilization of existing systems and software throughout the company. Pro-actively review routine processes and reporting for efficiency.
  2. Assist in the planning and implementation of additions, deletion and major modifications to the supporting infrastructure company-wide.
  3. Manage inventory of PC's, monitors, printers and phones and other equipment through:
  4. New hire setup.
  5. Ability to troubleshoot all core IT systems / software.

MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist with various duties and fill in as needed.
  2. Support other departments of the company as needed

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 1-2 years of Information Technology experience.
  3. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  4. Ability to work well in team.
  5. Strong work ethic and attention to detail
 
Position Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

It is essential that the person in this position can demonstrate the following skills:

  1. Familiar with Java, .NET, JavaScript or HTML/DHTML and Microsoft Office Suite
  2. Cisco phone system
  3. VPN access for key personnel
  4. Outlook access via the internet
  5. Customer or vendor supplied software / systems
  6. Ensure smooth day-to-day performance of all systems through appropriate maintenance procedures and upgrades.
  7. Network folders
  8. Download libraries
  9. External access to Jarp network.
  10. Network & PC viruses and spyware.
