Our Team:

The Safety, Health & Environmental (SH&E) Specialist works collectively with Operations and cross-functional teams in order to ensure compliance with safety, health and environmental regulations and corporate standards. This position also provides technical support to conduct safety and environmental risk assessments, delivers training, develops new procedures and conducts internal audits and inspections.

What you will be doing:

  • Identify and communicate opportunities to ensure compliance with SH&E regulations and corporate standards.
  • Provide technical support on SH&E matters to Operations and other cross-functional teams.
  • Conduct periodic inspections, complete reports and coordinate training as required by safety and environmental regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Safety Committees and develop technical skills on Committee members through training, projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and implement SH&E programs and procedures as required by regulations and corporate standards.
  • Lead activities with Site personnel to promote a culture of safety and environmental protection.
  • Deliver site specific HS&E training to employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Investigate safety and environmental incidents and near misses to determine causes and actions to prevent recurrence.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 2-3 years of experience in a SH&E role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in the application of regulatory standards to include OSHA, EPA, DEP, etc.
  • Strong writing & communication skills in order to develop programs, procedures, and employee training.
  • Ability to speak comfortably in front of people to provide effective training or report out on performance results.
  • Experienced in data analysis and risk assessment.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills in order to motivate others to want to participate in SH&E activities and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interact, influence, and communicate with multiple levels of the organization.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

Preferred Experience and Education:

  • SH&E experience in CPG or pharmaceutical companies.
  • Prefer fluency (written & oral) in both English and Spanish.
