Our Team:

The Director of Retention Marketing is responsible for leading a growing digital team tasked with double digit revenue growth YOY for the next 3-5 years. You will play an instrumental role in the launch of new brands within the ecommerce space, requiring maniacal focus on direct-to-consumer data and the customer journey, to ensure a successful digital retention program. In this role, you will lead the creation and execution of the digital retention marketing strategy that will drive brand leadership, generate repeat demand, and improve customer retention across brands. As both coach and player, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of activities across a wide range of digital channels that meet or exceed key performance indicators.

The ideal candidate will be someone driven by curiosity. You love to explore marketing analytics, traffic trends, customer behavior and the user experience. You ask critical questions, consistently seeking to find creative solutions to marketing challenges. You are growth focused – both personally and professionally – and seek to bring that focus to your direct reports.

What you will be doing:

  • Provides leadership and expertise on digital strategy including concept, design, and workflow, from implementation to launch on a range of digital platforms.
  • Responsible for designing a strategy and prioritizing, managing, supporting and executing digital marketing strategy initiatives (email marketing, marketing automation, SMS, retargeting, display, social) to support brands.
  • Maintain currency on emerging trends and ensure team demonstrates proficiency in modern tools and techniques
  • Support development and execution of email marketing lead generation and nurture campaigns, including initial audience selection, monitoring of active campaigns, and KPI reporting to help optimize campaign results.
  • Work closely with the marketing leadership team to define and execute digital marketing strategies which includes: maximizing intent signals, customer targeting, and web presence optimization.
  • Enhance digital marketing processes, A/B test structure, digital marketing promotions
  • Deliver against key metrics such as conversion rate, retention rate, repeat purchase rate by product, CPO, CLV/ARPU.

Technical & Creative Skills:

  • Effective project management skills with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Skill and experience distilling a set of data and translating findings into innovative, profitable, executable, and operationally feasible solutions
  • Proven track record of translating consumer needs into creative and profitable business programs, products, and/or practices
  • Creates an environment of success and engagement/collaboration within the team
  • Delegates responsibility appropriately while still holding ultimate accountability for all Marketing Strategy activity
  • Proven subject matter expertise in digital marketing
  • Ability to benchmark success and demonstrate and deliver ROI from marketing plans
  • Ability to work expediently, while remaining thorough and thoughtful in managing projects and timelines

Supervisory Experience:

  • Supervises a team of digital marketers through strategic leadership and by providing guidance in change and risk management.
  • Delegates effectively, communicates expectations clearly, and provides professional development opportunities.
  • Provides strategic leadership in alignment with divisional and organizational goals and objectives
  • Hire, develop and retain strong players.
  • Facilitate respect, synergy and collaboration in team dynamics.

What you bring to the team:

  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing or other relevant field.
  • A minimum of 8 years of related professional experience in the digital space.
  • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience required.
  • Hands-on experience with digital marketing platforms
  • Experience developing winning campaigns for email, social media or landing page testing
  • Excellent understanding of users' buying behavior as it pertains to ecommerce
  • Strong experience with Google Analytics or similar tracking tool
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in marketing automation technology such as Marketo, Bronto, Iterable, etc.
  • Exposure to best practices in A/B and multivariate testing
  • Excellent ability to collaborate cross functionally
