About the Organization Hill Country Mental Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Centers is a unit of local government and a not-for-profit, 501C provider of Mental Health and Intellectual Developmental Disabilities, Substance Abuse, and Veteran Peer Services throughout the greater Texas Hill Country Region. Hill Country MHDD Centers is designated to be the Mental Health Authority by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) and the Intellectual and Developmental Disability Authority by the Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS) for a 19 County Service Area including: Bandera, Blanco, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Kinney, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, Schleicher, Sutton, Uvalde and Val Verde Counties. Job Title: Psychiatrist Adult

Job Summary:

Hill Country has an immediate opening for an Adult Psychiatrist to join our Behavioral Health Care Services Group. This is a full-time, outpatient position working with adults in various clinic locations. The primary responsibilities of the Adult Psychiatrist are to provide psychiatric care to adults with severe and persistent mental illness on an outpatient basis.

Qualified candidates must possess a MD or DO Degree w/Board Certification and/or eligibility in Psychiatry. Candidate must be Licensed to practice medicine in Texas w/ successful completion of a residency approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or equivalent body. Certification by that specialty's member Board of the American Board of Medical Specialties or equivalent body is an acceptable substitute for the three (3) years' experience. Meets all other criteria for employment and medical staff appointment as appropriate.

Position Requirements

Academic / Work Experience Requirements:

  • Licensed Physician by the Texas Medical Board, DEA registration
  • M.D. or D.O. / Graduate from an Accredited Psychiatry Residency Program
  • Experience in Community Mental Health setting and Board Certification - Preferred
