Summary/Objective:

The Manager/Lead, Project Management Office (PMO) is responsible for the overall management of company projects, Project Management training, and coordination and management of the PMO processes and functions. The Manager/Lead, PMO provides work direction and supervises a team of professionals, support workers and/or external consultants that provides project management deliverables in support of all related business functions and in accordance with the company business mission. The Manager/Lead, PMO works to develop and refine project planning, execution, and controlling methodologies for enterprise-wide initiatives focused on improving business, operational performance and alignment. The Manager/Lead, PMO will be a hands-on leader and contributor.

Essential Functions:

- In partnership with company Managers, create, implement, and manage PMO processes that drive quality, efficiency, and scale within the enterprise via well-defined PMO gating system and associated PMO standards.

- Organize, manage, lead a team of Project Managers and assures proper application of company PMO standards, tools and methodologies.

- Directly manage a team of professionals and/or support workers in achieving department objectives that are directly linked to the business mission.

- Ensure the operational issues of the Project Management Office are managed with established tools, metrics and project management standards to provided quality, timely and cost-effective deliverables on time, within budget and agreed upon scope.

- Lead the definition and documentation of complex business requirements and processes.

- Lead design sessions and review sessions with technical and business staffs, including all levels of management.

-Manage department project plans, project budgets, timelines and deliverable.

- Lead the management of multiple, parallel projects using formal project planning techniques.

- Direct the activities of on-site and off-site consultants as may be needed.

- Maintain and establish customer relationships

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, math, computer science or other related discipline or equivalent progressive experience
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the project management field or a related area.
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience managing a team of professionals.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a business analyst role in a complex business & systems environment.
  • Project Management Certification (PgMP, PfMP, PMP) or other related Project Management Certifications.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Master's Degree in a related discipline.
  • Process Improvement Certification (Six Sigma, Lean).

Supervisory Responsibility:

Direct supervisory responsibility including the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, layoff, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such actions.
