Purpose of Division:

The National Initiatives Division is comprised of three program areas that focus on progressive research and program development to support and enhance the critical lines of business of NeighborWorks Organizations in homeownership, real estate and neighborhood development, and community building and engagement.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data and Analytics, the LIFT Lead Analyst is responsible for data driven analyses to evaluate the performance and impact of NeighborWorks America’s LIFT (Let’s Invest For Tomorrow) down-payment assistance program and participates in other program evaluation, analyses, design and execution with an emphasis on its relationship to the homeownership performance on the corporate score card. This work requires the ability to aggregate, review, analyze and present performance measurement and market data needed by senior management, the NeighborWorks America Board of Directors, outside funders, and other stakeholders to make informed investment and planning decisions.

This position is extremely visible and requires frequent interaction with and presentations to Wells Fargo senior staff, leadership at NWOs, government agencies and other stakeholders. The LIFT managed by the Lead Analyst accounts for a third of our network’s residential lending and a substantial portion of our homeowners created, thus validating LIFT data each quarter is critical to ensuring the integrity of our corporate data. In addition, the Lead Analyst will coordinate with the Senior Manager and LIFT program staff to deploy resources from other reporting analysts.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead regularly collected (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual) production and impact data for the LIFT Down payment Assistance Program. Work directly with network organizations to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and disseminate regular internal and external reports related to LIFT performance and production. Includes but is not limited to Board Report, Program Report, Sr. Managers’ Report, and multiple reports due on a routine basis to Wells Fargo.
  • Liaise with senior staff with preparation and proofing of high-level analytical projects for internal and external customers
  • Serve as primary point of contact for participating NeighborWorks Organizations in the use of the CMS used to provide data and reports in the Quarterly or Annual Reports
  • Assist with implementation of new LIFT program geographies and regularly attending LIFT launches
  • Oversee and execute validation of quarterly client and financing reports submitted by organizations via ORS
  • Provide guidance to LIFT management with program closeout procedures, including validating closed loan amounts and fund balances
  • Coordinate with CSI Business Intelligence Team to maintain and update Tableau LIFT Dashboard
  • Review and analyze evaluation results from NeighborWorks Organizations
  • Coordinating with the Office of Public Policy/Legislative Affairs, Division of Finance and Administration and Division of Development and Communications to provide corporate data and analysis needed, particularly with regard to the impact of down payment or other LIFT related programmatic areas impacting the corporation’s homeownership goals
  • Other job-related duties as assigned by Senior Manager of Data and Analytics for NHPL.
  • Mentor, train and advise LIFT Analyst in coordination with the Senior Manager

 
Position Requirements

Required Minimum Qualifications:
(a) Education: A bachelor’s degree in in mathematics, economics, statistics, business, nonprofit management, public administration or related degree (provided quantitative analysis is included) is required.

(b) Licenses, Certifications: None
(c) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to consistently deliver quality work on deadline is paramount. Ability to use and manipulate data, and experience with complex and large-scale projects, and web-based technologies. Excellent communication, both oral and written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, and successfully interact with people at all management and support levels. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional organizational skills and addition to detail. Ability to travel as required.
(d) Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required (a screening test will be required prior to interview). Experience using Tableau to create pivot tables, manipulate data and create business intelligence dashboards is strongly preferred. Experience using advanced statistical software (SPSS, R, STATA) is also preferred. A working knowledge of Client Management Systems such as Salesforce, CMAX or HCO is recommended.

Preferred Qualifications: Previous work in affordable housing, community development or lending is preferred. Experience working with network-based nonprofits is preferred. Advanced degree is preferred, as is formal training in data presentation and visualization.
