Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for the provision of routine accounting functions for the support of the Accounting department within the organization. Responsibilities will include assistance with accounts payable processing, preparation and maintenance of various reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, journal entry preparation and entry, and preparation and maintenance of budgeting trend reports.

- Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports
- Completes, maintains and submits required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
- Accurate and timely completion of both weekly and monthly general ledger maintenance.
- Prepares both internal and external reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and from various internal departments.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files.
- Timely and accurately prepares account reconciliations
- Develops and implements new accounting procedures as deemed necessary to improve efficiencies.
- Accurate and timely completion of routine and as needed accounting functions for service departments.
- Provide routine or as needed accounting supports that contribute to the effective functioning of the Accounting Department.

Education, Training and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting required
- Three (3) years of experience in accounting and/or bookkeeping position; including General Ledger
- Experience working with accounting/general ledger software
- Fluent in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be expected to operate successfully certain office equipment but not limited to: desktop PC, laptop computer, printers, scanners, and copiers. An employee in this position must be able to lift up to 10 pounds, demonstrate approved physical intervention techniques (BPS training methods) and demonstrate CPR.
An employee in this position will be required to maintain records related to the position. He or she will be required to have sufficient mobility to supervise staff, attend meetings inside and outside the office; he or she will be required to have sufficient fine motor skills to use a keyboard and telephone, handle, manipulate and retrieve documents pertinent to the position. This employee is required to hear (with or without hearing devices), speak (with or without associated devices), and see (with or without corrective lenses).
