Job Title: Deli/Front Counter Department: Food and Beverage Reports to: Grill Manager Pay Range: 14.00/hr Av Hrs/ Wk: varies FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary of Functions: Provide great customer service to guest by greeting them with a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome. The server takes orders from guest and accepts their payment, completes and delivers the food. Accountability: Deli Worker reports directly to the Deli Manager. Duties and Responsibilities: - Responsible for preparation of menu items, stocking.
- Maintains that the deli is cleaned and sanitized, that they follow health and safety codes. Required to keep front of the house cleaned on a regular basis.
- Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance, adhering to high standards.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Work as a team, assisting all guests’ and employees’ needs and inquiries.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment, including using sharp instruments; knives, meat slicer, etc., and hot frying oil that is a temperature of 350 degrees and above.
- Able to assist the cook in the back of the house, using the fryers and flat top stove.
- Complete opening and closing side duties as assigned.
- Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards, including internal controls and Elwha River Casino Hand book.
- Adhere to payment, cash handling and credit policies/procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: no supervisor duties. Minimum Qualifications: - Prior experience as a server, in a high volume deli environment.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED.
- Must have a Clallam County Food Handlers card within 30 of hire date.
- Must pass background check and UA testing prior to employment
- Have the ability to speak effectively to groups of employees, customers and the public
- Working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures.
- Working knowledge of computer, programs, and POS system
- Exceptional guest service skills required.
- Ability to work in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment desired.
- Basic math skills which include the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Test is required.
- Skills in identifying and resolving problems under pressure conditions.
Certificates, Licenses, Regulations: - Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Lower Elwha Klallam Gaming Commission.
- Must have a Washington State drivers license
- Must obtain and maintain a Clallam County Health and Sanitation Food Card.
Physical Demands: - Requires frequent: walking and/or stretching.
- Requires frequently: standing, repetitive wrist and hand movements, bending, reaching and lifting up to 65 pounds.
- Requires prolonged: Standing.
- Occasionally requires raising objects from a lower to a high position or moving objects horizontally.
- Frequently requires stooping or crouching which entails the use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
- Working with cleaning chemicals.
Work Environment: - Must be able to work in an environment that is occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet and /or humid conditions, work environmental factors that include, noise and smoke.
