Senior Electrical Engineer

Swanson Rink is seeking Senior Electrical Engineers with a passion and curiosity for leading projects and mentoring staff. This position requires strong engineering skills and will function as a technical resource to departmental staff. Project specific responsibilities include interfacing with clients to determine needs, and directing engineering tasks to ensure the developed solutions are complete, accurate, and in accordance with good engineering practice.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  1. Designs electrical systems for commercial, industrial, aviation and mission critical facilities.
  2. Mentoring and supervision of electrical team members.
  3. Technical supervision of assigned project engineers.
  4. Coordinating technical and administrative activities with those of other disciplines within the Company as well as with Clients and the Client's design team.
  5. Demonstrates expert application of local and national building codes and applicable safety codes and industry standards.
  6. Responsible for fostering and maintaining good client relationships and a superior level of services to clients.
  7. Follows standard company processes and reinforces with team members.
Position Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year college or university. Successful performance at this career level typically requires 10 - 15 years of relevant work experience. Minimum of three years' supervisory experience or combination of demonstrated skills and experience necessary to lead a team of Engineers.


  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
  • Ability and willingness to obtain professional engineering licensure in multiple states
  • Extensive experience and proficiency in conducting large and complex engineering projects through every phase of development
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; to express ideas; to share information; and to prepare clear, well-organized correspondence, reports and similar documents
  • Knowledge of fundamental business principles and practices, e.g., chargeable versus billable time, invoicing procedures, chargeable expenses, cost versus billing rate and profit margins
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
Location Denver OR Phoenix  
Travel Requirements Occasional travel required.
