The Handwork Studio is where kids learn by making. We pass down the tradition of teaching practical arts, such as knitting, crocheting, hand and machine sewing, embroidery, quilting, fashion, woodworking, baking, and crafts, in a fun and inspiring environment.

 
Position Requirements

Qualified Candidates Must: -- Be passionate, warm, caring and ultimately, well...happy. Bring excitement to the classroom -- Be high energy; able to sit on the floor and/or stand for an extended period of time -- Enjoy crafting in one or more of the following skills: knitting, crocheting, machine and hand sewing, embroidery, woodworking, baking or fashion design. You do not need to be an expert. We will train you on our methods. -- Enjoy working with youth between the ages of 5-16 years -- Possess infinite patience -- Be neat and organized -- Be willing to work generally Monday-Fridays (approx. 8:00a-4:00p) during the months of June, July, and August. This schedule varies slightly based on program and geographic location.

About the Organization The Handwork Studio is where kids learn by making. Children explore and acquire a variety of skills from woodworking to cooking and learning to sew. The Handwork Studio Camps are where imagination comes to life.

We partner with some of the country's finest independent schools and universities. Our staff of professional artists, instructors, and skilled teachers love passing down the tradition of all different types of handwork skills.
