Dominion National, a leading provider of dental and vision benefits in the Mid-Atlantic area, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Process Writer.

Summary:

The Business Process Writer is responsible for the design and development of process documentation and training materials in support of efficient and effective operational process management. Collaborates with internal partners to gather, research and review process and practice information as basis for documentation. Creates, edit and maintains documentation to accurately reflect operational processes. Develops edits and maintains end user documentation or online instructional content for staff development and training.

The individual in this position will serve as the operational lead on soft and hard copy documentation efforts including enhancing and coordinating efforts to maintain operational knowledge base; gather and translate primary documentation into clear readable end user documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel. Adapts content format to targeted audience; support the improvement of overall quality by regularly reviewing and revising documentation to maintain consistent and accurate procedural standards throughout the channels and for improvements in efficiency, usability and content; prepare presentations decks, spreadsheet analyses and other documents to present new concepts and findings; deliver and facilitate training opportunities related documentation usage and management; perform other duties as assigned.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The Business Process Writer will, at a minimum, possess the following credentials:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in developing process, business writing and/or operational documentation.
  • Experience with knowledgebase software solutions such as Robohelp and SharePoint.
  • Strong verbal communications and superior written communication skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects preferred.
  • Apply analytical skills to review source material, develop content, and ensure usability.
  • Maintain consistency in format, tone, and style of content.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively across multiple departments.
  • Ability to manage own work, multi-task, and prioritize. Highly organized, deadline oriented, and quality focused.
  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; must have a team-orientated approach; able to quickly and consistently establish rapport and collaborate
  • Demonstrated experience understanding the business needs of internal clients and implementing programs that positively impact work group performance.
