Under the direction of the Director of Service Contracts the Assistant Director of Service Contracts will provide leadership to all employees within in the department. This includes the coaching of managers and the supervision of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The Assistant Director will be responsible for daily contract operations and assurance of safety for all employees. The incumbent will ensure all individuals with disabilities served have the opportunity to become contributing members of the community by having employment options, support and encouragement so they may work in the setting of their choice and to ensure that all vocational training is based on the needs and desires of the persons’ served.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Develop and maintain a good working relationship with contract representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and contract retention.
  2. Supervise Customer Service Managers to ensure compliance to scope of work (SOW) for every contract.
  3. Assist the Director with employee recruitment, training & development, employee relations, performance management and retention.
  4. Oversee the design, development and implementation and evaluation of curriculum of training programs and ensure all necessary certifications are current for all staff.
  5. Assist the Director with the procurement and implementation of new contracts.
  6. Collaborate with Service Contract Contracting Manager to develop contract bids.
  7. Assist the Director with annual budget and monthly financial reports, track labor costs and perform financial analysis.
  8. Ensure department compliance with all Federal, State and Department of Labor policies and regulations as well as Health and Safety compliance.
  9. Ensure time study standards are established for all applicable work performed and are reviewed annually; review time studies to ensure accuracy, time management and that the individuals served receive correct wages that are compliant with the Department of Labor regulations.
  10. Procure supplies, obtains quotes, selects vendors and manage orders and inventory.
  11. Oversee preventive maintenance and repairs for custodial equipment.
  12. Work with management team and Case Managers to ensure vocational training and support meet the goals and desires of individuals served.
  13. Review and approve staff time and attendance and bi-weekly payroll.
  14. Attend job related seminars, classes and in house training.
  15. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • This position supervises the Customer Service Managers.
 
Position Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, co-workers and supervisors (verbal and written).
  • Ability to develop and maintain a cohesive team.
  • Ability to care, respond and work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Must encompass a professional demeanor and execute excellent customer service.
  • Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to perform basic accounting techniques and budget development.
  • Knowledge of basic auditing and evaluation processes.
  • Knowledge of training development and presentation skills.
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to interpret instructions, gain knowledge and have initiative.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Required: Associates Degree in Business Management or related field and one (1) year verifiable work experience in the field of building service multi-site maintenance in a management role OR High School Diploma or equivalent and five (5) years verifiable work experience in the field of building service maintenance in a management role.
  • Required: Knowledge of custodial operations and building multi-site maintenance and procedures.
  • Required: Experience in floor care techniques: stripping, waxing, spray buffing, equipment and knowledge of maintenance/chemicals for all floor types.
  • Required: Valid Nevada Driver’s License with a clean annual driving history.
  • Preferred: Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities.
