Human Resources Coordinator, Academy Museum 



The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will be the world’s premier institution dedicated to the art and science of movies. Located at Wilshire and Fairfax in Los Angeles, the Museum will be simultaneously immersive, experimental, educational, and entertaining. The Human Resources Coordinator will demonstrate outstanding written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and provide excellent administrative and customer service support in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem solving and decision-making skills is required with an understanding of employee relations, staffing management, and payroll. Must feel comfortable managing conflicts, be effective in scheduling, and be able to help support a thorough recruitment process.


  • Coordinates all pre-employment activities including offer letters, pre-employment drug screenings, new hire packets, background investigations, and new hire start dates and notifications.
  • Administers the approval process for new openings and handles job postings.
  • Prepares, maintains and ensures accurate records including personnel files.
  • Conducts a variety of personnel file and I-9 audits.
  • Assists in complying with all federal and state employment laws.
  • Assists with all internal and external HR related inquiries and requests.
  • Assists with payroll and adhoc HR projects.
  • Keeps up-to-date with the latest HR trends and best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Human Resources field.
  • Experience in HR administration and exposure to employee relations and payroll practices. ADP experience a plus.
  • Strong computer skills with high proficiency in MS Office.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Outstanding organization and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Must have an inherent understanding of confidentiality and the ability to maintain it at all times.
