Major Account Executive-Remote Position 


Job Summary:

This sales position is responsible for generating larger sales opportunities with both existing and new customers from an assigned list of existing and potential customers, in a broad geographical area, to both new and existing customers. Industry experience is preferred. Working in a team environment, it is expected that leads and information for other territory and/or account assignments will be shared in a timely manner. Occasionally, dual calls, introductions and collaboration will be needed to ensure complete customer satisfaction and sale closure. Pre-assigned goals for RMR production, installation production and specific activity-based goals will be assigned by the Sales Manager.

*Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and manage a list of potential electronic security customers via networking, prospecting, cold calling, customer referrals, leads, trade shows, community involvement, mailings, etc.
  2. Meet the weekly, monthly and annual sales goals for installation and MRR sales.
  3. Enter all call activity, quotes and closed sales into InSIGHT to aid in managing the territory, submitting jobs and providing key information to management.
  4. Set up appointments with prospective clients to learn their needs/concerns and design security systems to meet these needs.
  5. Follow up and meet with any leads provided by Per Mar within 24 hours of receipt and negotiate with the customer to secure the sale.
  6. Attend weekly sales meetings and any Per Mar or other sales training programs, as needed or mandated by the Sales Manager.
  7. Maintain customer contact list and organize appointments and proposals via the company's customer relations management program.
  8. Perform site surveys for accurate proposals and assist the Installation/Operations Manager in scheduling installations sold by providing location maps, site plans, zone sheets, work orders and any specific customer information.
  9. Follow up with the customer after the installation is complete to ascertain customer satisfaction and deliver the system to ensure the customer has a clear understanding of the system's operation and procedures so that the customer does not create false alarms.
  10. Must be available to travel, and work nights or weekends, as needed.
  11. Adhere to, be aware of and follow all safety policies and procedures.
  12. Wear and maintain appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) as outlined by the company and/or client and follow all PPE policies and procedures.
  13. All other reasonable duties as assigned by the Sales Manager specific to the operation of daily business functions.
  14.   16. When appropriate, inform customers of Per Mar Security Services of products and services and refer business to appropriate department.
  17. As this position develops, the employee may be assigned additional duties or special projects as deemed necessary by management.
  18. Assume responsibility for understanding and complying with Per Mar Security Services attendance expectations.

Position Requirements

It is strongly recommended that the Major Account Executive build a network via memberships to civic organizations (i.e. Lion's Club, Rotary Club) and become active in local Chamber of Commerce and Builders organizations by attending events and monthly meetings.


  1. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record.
  2. Must be able to obtain specified license(s) to perform work in the security industry according to the rules and regulations prescribed by the State(s) where this position travels.

Education and/or Experience:

  1. High School Diploma/GED is required. Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is preferred.
  2. 4-6 years of prior demonstrated successful sales experience is required.


  1. Must possess a strong knowledge of structural sales presentation and close procedures.
  2. Must have technical aptitude.
  3. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Strong customer service focus/skills are a must.
  5. Must have a personable demeanor and professional appearance.
  6. Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
  7. Must be capable of handling challenging and stressful situations without decreasing productivity.
  8. Must have strong computer skills with demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel; Access experience a plus.
  9. Mathematical Skills including ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume along with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  10. Reasoning skills including ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, resulting primarily from phones ringing, printers and traffic of individuals within the office environment.
