Description

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Includes but not limited to the following:

Works under close supervision of President/CEO and in collaboration with Sales, Marketing and Accounting Heads;

Evaluating market trends and price of goods and supplies in the market and to formulate planned projections for the company;

Formulate and implement procurement and contract management strategies, instructions, policies and procedures;

Build and develop relationships with key suppliers to get competitive prices and beneficial contract terms;

Making intelligible market survey trend analysis and forecast reports and be able to analyze, recommend and strategize plans for the company;

Formulate and control reasonable budgets and financial plans for the purchase of supplies;

Implement new sales and marketing initiatives in collaboration with pertinent departments to increase sales and profitability

Propose new vendor selection recommendation to Upper Management;

Initiate requests for quotes, evaluate vendors bids and stay in top of price and contract terms negotiations;

Studying quantity and quality of stock received from vendors and vendors capacity to deliver on time to determine viability of retaining or terminating vendor relationships;

Constantly revisiting existing vendor terms and develop a pattern to be able to work on a progressive and better contract terms on an annual basis;

Review purchase requests and ensure authorization as necessary to facilitate timely and essential purchases;

Constantly tracking purchasing activities and measurements. Develop measurement method or meaningful metrics to determine efficiencies or inefficiencies of the purchasing programs of the company;

Must be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed multiple times per year for tradeshows and other work-related assignments;

Make rational and cost-effective arrangements for disposal of surplus stocks accumulated in the company inventory;

Lead the Purchasing team in all phases;

Completion and filling of purchasing documents (vendor documents, contracts, purchase orders, etc.);

Making market survey analysis and reports;

Monitoring ETAs of incoming merchandise purchases, maintaining database and pulling reports upon requests;

Keeping record of all the materials/commodities purchased for the company;

Following and completing all delegated tasks as per the necessary schedule;

Ensuring the maintenance of the quality of goods and supplies of the company;

Verifying quantity and quality of stock received from the vendors;

Consistent submission of comprehensive purchasing reports as required;

Comprehensive data entry for product and shipping details;

Continually develop expertise to support growth for new projects;

Manages front desk and reception duties and responsibilities;

Committed availability to attend, participate and help out in tradeshows, trade conventions, and other company-sponsored events:

Shall perform and complete other related administrative and clerical responsibilities and projects as assigned/necessary;

May be delegated, tested, or given an opportunity to be cross-trained for other duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS

Purchasing experience required-exposure on video game accessories, toys and mobile & audio categories - HIGHLY PREFERRED!

Must show ability and skills to identify future trends for video gaming and toys industry, as well as forecast social, economic, and political changes that might impact profit margins;

Specializes in recording, tracking and keeping abreast of any market conditions or changes that might affect the demand, as well as the supply and the need for products that might make a difference in company projections and goals;

Must have demonstrable experience in the development of national account pricing programs with suppliers of the video games and toys industry;

Must have experience working within a distribution environment and understanding the role that a distributor plays within the supply chain ecosystem;

Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in a sales position working with resellers or business to business customers;

Excellent written and verbal communication aptitude and interpersonal skills;

Should possess strong analytical skills (DATA ANALYSIS/FORECASTING) and well versed in basic accounting and inventory principles;

Must possess and be able to demonstrate strong negotiating skills;

Must possess and be able to demonstrate strong decision making skills;

Must be able to meet critical deadlines and achieve organizational objectives;

Expected to work independently and take initiative owning the position and showing proactive drive all the way;

Must possess and demonstrate experience developing and working with company purchasing programs, rebate programs as well as warranty management programs

Should possess the ability to represent the company professionally;

Should possess ability to handle crisis and problem solving skills;

Admirable customer service orientation;

Strict attention to details;

Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment;

Can work flexible hours to liaise with Asia team & manufacturing partners overseas;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and experience equivalent to:

College diploma GED certification or any corresponding qualification from a certified college;

Bachelor's degree in retail, supply chain management, store management or material procurement with 2 to 3 years of experience in retail or store purchases

At least two (2) years of purchasing work experience in electronic and consumer goods company - a BIG PLUS!
