We are currently seeking a Software Developer for an opportunity located in Herndon, VA. This role will support complex project teams during the implementation of Meridian’s learning management system (LMS) and eLearning solutions for public and private sector clients. In parallel, delivers internal support to the Program Manager and Software Architect with focus on improving professional services performance in areas such as software development processes, team mentoring, and offering technical solutions. This position requires strong customer facing skills to support development activities to both internal and external clients.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acquire detailed product knowledge of all Meridian Global software modules to execute assigned project tasks for successful customer implementations
  • Participate in requirements gathering efforts to define/scope enhancements for stakeholders
  • Support the delivery and implementation teams, at various stages in the SDLC
  • Review software code and documentation to ensure technical accuracy, compliance, completeness, or to mitigate risks
  • Work with Meridian Professional Services project teams (consisting of Project Managers, Implementation Consultants, Developers, and other resources)
  • Provide issue resolution by determining root cause and alternatives to solution which best meets Meridian and client needs
  • Collaborate with Product team members to evaluate or diagnose problems and recommend possible solutions
  • Use multiple development tools to analyze, program, test, and troubleshoot solution deliverables
  • Work with clients on translating business requirements to technical design
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external project team members to gather functional and integration requirements
  • Become an expert on the eLearning industry, Meridian products, and Software implementation processes to support all aspects of deploying the solution to the Meridian customer base.
  • Facilitate the development of a highly functional technical solutions architects and development team through professional development, management, and mentoring.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports and metrics specific to the team utilization, and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist the Program Manager, Software Architect and Development in the development of software deployment methodologies & internal SOPs
  • Work with the internal teams, customers and partners to develop repeatable, streamlined processes and solutions using Meridian’s offerings to accomplish the customer base LMS objectives
  • Validate technical documentation is of quality, and accurate
  • Confront internal issues openly and quickly
  • Escalate issues when needed for timely resolution
  • Support VP, Customer Success with Sales scoping and prospect client calls regarding technical questions
 
Position Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance (TS at minimum with eligibility to get SCI w/poly)
  • Solid understanding of architecture of web applications, integration architecture, object-oriented design and relational database design
  • Ability to develop database driven web-based applications using C#, ASP.NET, JavaScript AJAX, JSON, JQuery, LINQ
  • Experience creating and consuming web services (SOAP/WSDL, REST, Web API), WCF, XML/XSL/XSD, X/HTML
  • Experience with Microsoft TFS or another source control platform, Continuous Integration & Build Server
  • Experience in development role for federal and/or commercial clients
  • Experience with large-scale web/SaaS applications with web services
  • Demonstrated ability to schedule, execute and perform server/IIS/database administration tasks
  • Demonstrated problem solving, analytic and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal development teams and customer technical representatives
  • Ability to work closely with internal Stakeholders in all stages of SDLC
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and understand priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality products in a deadline-driven production environment
  • Full life cycle application software development experience that includes large, complex package and/or custom software implementations with Fortune 1000 customers
  • Self-starter with a proved track record of success. Solid team player with a positive attitude and a record of consistent follow through on commitments
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain high quality products in a deadline-driven production environment
  • Experience with application development and delivery through the full software development lifecycle
  • Ability to understand functional requirements and translate into technical deign
  • Experience with managing multiple project tasks and delegating to other developers
  • Ability to wear multiple hats (Software Architect and Applications Developer)
  • Availability for overnight travel (up to 15%)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within a Federal/Fedramp environment, or environment under security compliance controls.
  • Experience in a Cloud Based SQL configuration, SQL Server as a Service
  • Experience in architecting and supporting a High Performing/High Available enterprise SQL Environment, both Physical and Virtual
  • Experience in Cloud Computing

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelors in a related field

This job operates in an office setting which incurs moderate noise consistent with a business office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical attributes are required, for instance, manual dexterity/typing, read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation, the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. as well as, ability to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
