SUMMARY

Members of the Valor Solutions team implement technical solutions as developed by Solutions Architects for Valor’s customers.

This position will be responsible for the following:

  • Handling sales and project opportunities with new and existing client base

  • Coordinating implementation of equipment for existing and new customers

  • Create documentation for customers and keep documentation up to date with an attention to detail and natural desire to be thorough

  • Providing turnover of new implementations

  • Responsible for resolving technical escalations from the Service Desk staff

  • Resolve network issues

  • Resolve / troubleshoot advanced network issues

  • Assist in resolving software/application issues as it relates to the network

  • Participate in on call rotation

 
Position Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • 5+ years supporting, maintaining, and deploying network infrastructure

  • Cisco models – 2X00, 3X00, 4500, 6500 and Nexus platforms

  • Certifications: Cisco CCNP - Collaboration, Route and Switch, Wireless, Security (1-2 of these certifications preferred)

  • UCCE/UCCX experience

  • LAN – Spanning Tree, VLANs, VTP

  • WAN – FR, ATM, vendor-managed MPLS, T1, T3+ and broadband

  • Wireless – APs and Wireless LAN Controllers – Autonomous and LWAP

  • Routing – static, EIGRP, OSPF and BGP

  • VPN – site-to-site and client VPN

  • Advanced level of knowledge installing, configuring and supporting network solutions

  • Advanced level of knowledge supporting, diagnosing and facilitating resolution of application related issues

  • Advanced level of knowledge in troubleshooting network and application issues, including using a network sniffer, performing debugs and reviewing logs on network and operating systems

  • Advanced level knowledge of TCP/IP, sub netting, routing, switching, VLANs, firewalls and VPN tunnels

  • Strong customer service skills and experience working with all levels of staff from an admin to an executive

  • Experience interacting with and managing activities with vendors

  • Basic level of knowledge in installing, configuring and supporting desktop applications including Microsoft Office 2007/2010, IE and common antivirus applications and desktop imaging software.

  • Basic level of knowledge installing, configuring and supporting server related applications including MS Exchange 2007/2010, SharePoint 2007/2010, MS SQL 2008/2012 and common backup software applications

  • Basic level of knowledge installing, configuring and supporting Microsoft server operating systems. Linux OS experience helpful

  • Basic level of knowledge installing, configuring and supporting virtualization technologies including VMware ESX and Microsoft Hyper-V

  • Basic level of knowledge configuring and support cloud based applications including Office 365, Lync and hosted file storage

  • Basic level of knowledge preferred for storage related technologies including HP Lefthand, iSCSI storage systems and fiber channel storage

  • Basic level of knowledge with common infrastructure monitoring applications such as Nagios and SolarWinds

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • BA/BS in Information Technology or Technology related degree (preferred)

  • Minimum five (5+) years of experience working in IT or a mix of “high volume” call center support role

  • Cisco, Juniper, HP, Microsoft, Cloud, VMware, Storage and other certifications as related to requirements (preferred)
