Share Email Opening Title Accounting Manager  Description Position Summary As a key member of the Finance team, the Accounting Manager reports to the BU Controller and is responsible for the full general ledger of Extant, including management of Audits, A/R, A/P, as well as overall accuracy of ledger. The successful candidate will have a developing business sense and a demonstrated career path to date. Potential for continued growth is essential for this role. This position will be based in Melbourne, FL location. The Primary Areas of responsibility will be: General Accounting Lead monthly close process for Extant Publish monthly Financial statements and submit results for consolidation with Transdigm Reconcile balance sheet accounts, as required by policy and closing checklist Work closely with team to ensure Inventory costs flow correctly, with accurate balances Define, Calculate, and Apply Labor and overhead rates for inventory Ensure proper recording and depreciation of Fixed Assets Acquisition Accounting Manage opening balance sheets of approximately 3-6 acquisitions per year Ensure purchase accounting, including Intangibles, Goodwill, PP&E, and Inventory A/P and A/R Optimize A/P process, with a focus on metrics and continuous improvement Establish A/R credit practices that facilitate trade while ensuring minimum disruption from collection efforts Lead and Develop a team of two Policy and Procedure Ensure company-wide compliance with Transidgm policies Develop Extant policies and procedures where necessary Dialogue with Internal and External auditors when required Demonstrate ‘above-average' results of both internal and external audits Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will have a mix of 2-3 years experience working as an auditor (Internal or External), and 3-5 years working in the manufacturing sector. A total of 7 years of progressive Accounting and Finance experience, with exposure to Inventory/Cost Accounting required Excellent at manipulating data in Tabular models and Excel Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable to established targets, policies, or procedures Understands how ERP modules fit together and function Targeted Traits Demonstrated maturity and experience to directly manage a team of 2.
