LERETA is an industry leader with an enormous focus on technology, innovation, and commitment to service excellence.   Open Date 6/6/2019   Position Lead Software Engineer   Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time   Exempt/Non-Exempt Exempt   Category Information Technology   Location Covina   Req Number INF-19-00018   Description As a lead software engineer and a member of the engineering leadership team, you will direct development efforts, evaluate technologies, and provide technical direction on the build-out of a new cloud-based platform. You will be responsible for backend services, APIs and integration components that power LERETA's tax and flood businesses. Lead services development, tool selection, technology and architecture evaluation. Provide expertise and mentorship to development teams on various technical areas. Actively participate in discussions on technology and collaborate with leaders across the organization on technical decisions. Work closely across the organization to with Product Management and business teams to understand requirements, provide feedback and set clear expectations on what the system will and will not support. Design, architect and implement a services layer enabling connectivity between various systems. Provide proactive support for backend software components and respond to ad-hoc requests.   Position Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or equivalent field. 15+ years in software design/development, with a majority of time focused on building backend systems with experience in the following areas: Relational, and NoSql databases such as Postgres, MySQL, HBase, Cassandra Search and indexing technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr Information extraction and matching Web Services paradigms such as REST RPC technologies such as gRPC, Protocol Buffers, Thrift, SOAP, XML-RPC Container management systems such as Kubernetes *nix shell scripting Experience leading engineering teams on backend services and/or systems development. Expert knowledge of Golang and/or Python Experience designing methods of integration and/or implementing predefined integration components to enable communication between systems. Experience building/deploying software using toolsets within common cloud infrastructures such as Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure. Deep understanding of distributed environments and resource management.
