EYP is searching for a Senior Designer to provide design leadership on major projects. The Senior Designer will provide creative input and maintaining the design direction throughout all phases of a project.

Key responsibilites include:

  • Leadership role in creative process of project design
  • Collaborate with project team to advance project design
  • Be a champion, within the project team, of the project design goals and design priorities
  • Be responsible, in collaboration with Project Director and other team members for completion of design deliverables / design work plan
  • Develop a compelling vision for the project
  • Be a leader and advocate for EYP’s integrated design approach, develop familiarity with architectural, technical, engineering and sustainable design requirements of projects and use to facilitate integrated design solutions
  • Use technology and methodologies to create innovative approaches to building design
  • Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of new technologies, changes in building codes, and advances in the industry
  • Work collaboratively in a cross discipline environment to produce integrated project documents, and insure integrated design approaches & solutions
  • Present design work using graphic, oral and other media to clients and regulatory authorities
  • Lead (but do not dominate) project design reviews within the firm
  • Lead preparation of preliminary design work for marketing purposes, in collaboration with the Project Executive and other team members
  • Make compelling design presentations to potential clients to assist the firm in winning new commissions
  • Be a leading advocate for design and creativity in all aspects of the firm’s work
 
Position Requirements

The incumbent must have the following knowledge, skills and abilites:

  • Proven ability to conceptualize, develop and implement design on a variety of projects
  • Recognition for design talent: have participated in projects that have won design recognition
  • Proven design leadership skills
  • Strong graphic skills and computer graphic skills

Education:

  • Professional degree in Architecture or equivalent is required
  • Registered license in Architecture required
  • LEED accreditation

Experience:

  • 10 years experience as a designer; technical and management experience is preferred
