Summer Food Program Site Supervisor & Driver
OVERVIEW: This is for a temporary position, 5.5 hours a day, Monday through Friday, from June 24, 2019 through August 27, 2019 to support the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe's Summer Food Program for children. A 'training day' will take place for approximately 2 hours, date to be determined.
This person will work with the Elders Cook to manage supply of groceries, including shopping and meal planning. This position will assist the Elders head cook and supervise the site area, including any volunteers. This person will be responsible to set up the meal site, monitor the children, be responsible for data collection to verify the number of meals served and report weekly to supervisor. Position is responsible for managing clean up and proper storage after the meal.

POSITION STATUS: Temporary, part-time, no benefits
SALARY: $15.00 Hourly
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday, 9:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare menu in compliance with USDA food service regulations.
- Weekly shopping for needed inventory for weekly meals
- Prepare meals daily in compliance with health and safety standards.
- Operates tribal vehicle(s) to complete necessary shopping for the program.
- Set up meal site and ensure that meals and site meet local health rules and regulations
- Serve children meals at the meal site according to program rules and regulations (training provided)
- Collect the required program data and provide required documentation to the Social Services Director on a daily basis (forms will be provided)
- Supervise the children at the meal site
- Clean up the meal site
- Keep vehicle interior clean. Report any vehicle maintenance concerns to supervisor.
- Submit incident/accident report to supervisor or designee.
- Perform other duties as relevant to job.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have Washington State driver license and an insurable driving record
- Must have a food handlers card
- Must have clean driving and criminal record of at least three years.
- Must be alcohol and drug free
- Must be able to communicate with staff and tribal community
- Must be available for training, TBD, and to work Monday - Friday from June 24, 2019 to August 27, 2019 from 9:00 A.M. to 2:30 P.M. , except for July 4th (closed)
- Experience working with children, food programs, and/or data collection preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 20 pounds
- Sitting, standing, stretching or reaching for objects.
- Must be alert, attentive and focus when operating a vehicle
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must pass a UA testing
- Must be able to comply with the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe Drug Free Workplace policies.
This position is subject to Indian Preference in hiring, in accordance with P.L. 93-638.
