Maintenance Technician 

Description

The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain the homes within the Natural Retreats' portfolio in order to ensure an exemplary guest experience. The primary function will be to carry out the servicing and maintenance of all Natural Retreats properties, including monitoring of usage by guests and owners. This position will act as an interface on occasion between Natural Retreats, Property Service Department, and their guests and owners.

Position Requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general maintenance pre-checks prior to owner or guest arrivals.
  • Perform general maintenance departure-checks upon owner or guest departure.
  • Perform weekly inspection checks on assigned properties and returned completed checklist daily.
  • Record billable items and hours to be billed to guests and/or owners for worker orders.
  • Monitor and enforce policies regarding property usage.
  • Maintain detailed records of service performed in all units, according to the daily time sheet.
  • Communicate the completion and progress of assigned work orders.
  • Perform maintenance as assigned by Management, including but not limited to audio/visual, electrical, basic plumbing, mechanics, and/or appliance repair.
  • Perform diversified duties to troubleshoot and maintain core home systems (i.e. HVAC, plumbing, electric, etc.) as well as basic repairs to home aesthetics.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs to homes and perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Participate in snow removal around managed properties as needed.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance in homes.
  • Responsible for tracking and up keep of assigned tool inventory.
  • Responsible for monitoring, tracking, and reporting credit care and purchase account usage to Project Coordinator, attached to daily time sheet.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Basic knowledge of audio/visual, electrical, plumbing, mechanics, and appliance repair including but not limited to HVAC systems, radiant heating systems, and boiler systems.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds by moving furniture, lifting tools, and maintenance supplies.
