Accounts Receivable Posting Specialist 


What are we looking for in an Accounts Receivable Posting Specialist?

As a member of our Finance department, the Accounts Receivable Posting Specialist is responsible for updating and maintaining accurate financial accounts for each client. As Medicare, private insurance, and cash payments are received, the Posting Specialist updates client accounts to reflect the most recent payments and subsequent balance. When needed, the Posting Specialist will also correct and reprocess electronic claims for payment. This role is best suited to someone who is skilled at data entry and willing to check and double-check their work for accuracy to minimize accounting errors and possible disruption in services to our clients. Background knowledge of insurance processes and basic accounting principles are helpful, and at least two years of related work experience is required.

Accounts Receivable Posting Specialist duties may include:

  • processing adjustments to client accounts for all payments received through Medicare, private insurance, or cash payments
  • reviewing insurance denials and assisting with resubmitting claims or appealing denials
  • posting receipts to client accounts and updating electronic health records with EOBs and ERAs when received
  • reviewing and reconciling daily deposits from all locations and balancing with the monthly deposit spreadsheet
  • reviewing and making adjustments as necessary to client accounts in the Medication-Assisted Treatment program, including collecting back balances
  • assisting with electronic billing processes
  • processing refunds to clients and updating accounts accordingly
  • staying informed about changes in agency processes, contract status, funding source requirements, & other applicable updates related to client payments
Position Requirements

Education / Experience: High school diploma / GED and two years of related billing or accounts receivable experience.
