Expected Hours of Work 12-hour shifts, 4 nights a week Summary / Objective This position will perform start-up, manufacturing, testing, and shut down of plastic pipe extrusion line and related equipment required to produce AASHTO/ASTM pipe in accordance with NTPEP work plan. Essential Functions Manufacturing, documenting, testing, packaging, and stockpiling HDPE pipe and accessories. Identifying and reclaiming pipe and accessories via regrind processing and storage procedures. Identifying AASHTO/ASTM compliant production and placing the product in the stockyard. Keeping a clean safe work environment organized and properly warehoused. Starting and stopping of the extrusion line. Operate large and small heavy equipment.
Competencies / Requirements Basic Mechanical abilities needed to identify, troubleshoot, and maintain extruding equipment (auxiliary and main extrusion) during production shift. Have a good working knowledge of automated HMI controls with basic programmed routines to set up extrusion production line equipment. Heavy equipment experience needed to operate large and small forklifts when handling long load lengths used in warehousing pipe components and finished product placement to the stockyard. Fabrication skills include proper use of hand tools power tools and pneumatic tools i.e. staple guns nail guns power saws reciprocating band and compound types also power drills extrusion welders and hot tables that are used for attachment fabrication. Ability to produce control documents for traceability of testing and archiving of products being manufactured, per the QSM/NETPEP work plan. Must have the ability to learn and follow all AASTHO/ASTM/NETPEP work plan and retain for daily use in the producing measuring testing and lab work in for mentioned plans |
