Share Email Opening Title Marine Engineer  Description The Columbia Group (TCG), a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing the United States Military with acquisition, logistics management, engineering, design, fabrication, test and evaluation, information technology and financial management support services is seeking a Marine Engineer. The Marine Engineer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to plan, design, and oversee changes to a unique ship currently undergoing extensive modifications in Baltimore Harbor. This is the kind of job that people tell their grandchildren about 30 years from now. The individual in this role will: Compile and interpret ship design and construction requirements through research of ship specifications and engineering drawings Work with a team of experienced engineers and people with other areas of expertise to plan, design, and oversee ship modifications. Perform calculation and/or computer simulations to support design creation or design verification Write Statements of Work to accomplish shipboard changes Conduct occasional on-site ship check inspections for specifications compliance Create briefs to explain and summarize technical issues, ship capabilities, change history, and other projects requested by the customer Hull mechanical and electrical areas are usually divided among the team - this specific position is offers the opportunity for broad experience rather than early fixation a particular specialty.   Position Requirements Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelor's Degree plus a minimum 1-2 years related experience Engineering and/or Manufacturing experience with the ability to read engineering drawings and schematics Basic knowledge/familiarity with ships and shipboard systems Strong proficiency in speaking and writing in English Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET clearance.
